Tips on Packing

Packing a suitcase

1. Preparing to Pack

Before embarking on your travels, it is important to understand carry-on and suitcase regulations to simplify your time packing, and your time at the airport.

Keep in mind that each traveler should only check one suitcase measuring approximately 30 x 20 x 10 inches, get in touch with your airline carrier to ask about any checked baggage fees. Any sharp items like scissors, blades, and razors should be packed in your checked luggage. To be easily identified, make sure to use your CIE Tours’ luggage tags and strap. Additionally, check with your Travel Agent about prohibited goods such as lighters and matches.

CIE Tours provides each traveler with a handy CIE Tours backpack that is designed to fit perfectly under your seat on the coach. If you plan to bring your own carry-on, it must be soft-sided, without wheels, and must be small enough to fit under the coach seat.

As for liquids in carry-on bags, TSA requires all liquids, gels, and aerosols be in 3-ounce or smaller containers, which must fit in one 1-quart size zip-top clear plastic bag. This bag will be placed on the conveyor belt at airport security. Any liquids in larger containers can be packed in your checked baggage.
