slide Day 1Edinburgh Tour

Your tour departs from your hotel at 2:30 PM. Set out on a panoramic tour of Edinburgh, discovering the medieval townhouses along the Royal Mile in the heart of the Old Town and the Georgian mansions of the 200-year-old New Town. Return to your city-center hotel for a welcome drink with your group, then enjoy an evening free to explore and dine as you wish. 
Explore Edinburgh Castle, once a royal fortress and today home to the Scottish Crown Jewels. Next, visit the Port of Leith Distillery, a new distillery in Scotland's historic center of trade in wines and spirits. Discover how this modern distillery approaches sustainability in ingredients and production methods. The rest of your day is free to stroll the city and dine as you wish. Travel to Culzean Castle, a grand, centuries-old castle that includes an apartment given to General Eisenhower as a gesture of thanks for America's support in World War II. The bus rides seemed longer then usual, and would have liked to have stayed longer at one of the locations.

Most of tour was good but some stops were not worth the time and should be substituted such as Hillsborough and Pollock House

Let CIE take the worry and stress out of planning an international trip!

My wife and I checked other tour companies, and CIE was by far the most economical. We traveled to two countries for a very reasonable price!

Always a great experience

Would love to give 5 stars, but there was too much time on the bus. There were a few times where we would drive to a destination for an hour or 1.5 hours then back to the hotel. Then the next day we drove another 1.5 hours to a destination and back to the hotel. Could have streamlined the travel to spend less time on the bus. Also the taste of Belfast did not provide enough food for a dinner. It was barely an appetizer.

Tour guide and bus driver were awesome.

We were well taken care of from the moment we arrived in the airport till the tour ended. The only downside was a couple of the hotels had no AC.
