Tour Highlights

Glendalough

Ireland was once known as the land of saints and scholars – and Glendalough was at its heart. St Kevin established a monastery here in the 6th century, amid the dramatic beauty of the Wicklow Mountains. Stroll among the picturesque ruins of churches and a round tower, and contemplate the monastic heritage of the generations of monks who once walked among them.

Cliffs of Moher

Feel the thrill as you take in the awe-inspiring beauty of the Cliffs of Moher, where dramatic sea cliffs tower 700 feet above the Atlantic Ocean, stretching for miles along County Clare's Wild Atlantic Way. With panoramic coastal views of the Aran Islands and Galway Bay, this iconic landmark showcases Ireland at its most spectacular.

Ring of Kerry

Journey along the Ring of Kerry, Ireland's most famous scenic drive, and discover the stunning landscapes of County Kerry. From dramatic Atlantic coastline and charming heritage towns to mountain passes, lakes, and breathtaking viewpoints, this iconic route showcases the very best of southwest Ireland.

EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum

Irish emigrants helped shaped the world – and EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum in Dublin tells their stories. Check out high-tech exhibits at this award-winning institution as you learn the remarkable fates of the Irish people who left the island, and discover their roles in changing the globe.

Sheepdog Demonstration

Experience sheepdog herding in County Galway at Glengowla, a family-run Connemara farm where trained sheepdogs demonstrate their skills amid rugged mountain scenery and a historic mining landscape.

Jameson Experience, Midleton

Step into the historic Midleton Distillery in County Cork and discover centuries of Irish whiskey-making tradition. On a guided experience, you’ll learn how this legendary site became home to some of Ireland’s most celebrated whiskeys, with tastings along the way.

Irish Night at the Abbey Tavern

The Abbey Tavern in the scenic seaside suburb of Howth offers one of Dublin's most beloved evenings of traditional Irish entertainment. Enjoy spirited music, captivating dancing, and authentic Irish cuisine as you experience a cherished cultural tradition.

Newbridge Silverware Factory Tour

Discover the craftsmanship behind one of Ireland's most celebrated brands at Newbridge Silverware. Visit the factory, browse elegant collections, and explore the Museum of Style Icons, home to costumes worn by some of the world's biggest stars.

Johnstown Castle

Johnstown Castle in County Wexford showcases romantic Gothic Revival architecture, landscaped gardens, lakes, and walking paths across a 120-acre estate. One of Ireland’s hidden gems, it also includes the Irish Agricultural Museum and beautifully restored historic interiors.

slide Day 1Dublin City Tour & EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum

Depart from your hotel at 2:00 PM for a panoramic tour of Dublin with a local guide, seeing its grand Georgian buildings and squares, the River Liffey, and historic O'Connell Street. Visit EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, an award-winning, high-tech museum that chronicles the journeys made by Irish emigrants around the globe and details the stories of the new lives made by the Irish abroad. Back at your hotel, enjoy a welcome drink with your group, and then you'll be free to discover the city and dine at your leisure.
Set off for Glendalough, a valley in the beautiful Wicklow Mountains. Tour the picturesque ruins of the ancient monastery there; it thrived for centuries after being established by St Kevin in the sixth century. See stone churches, large carved Celtic crosses, and an iconic round tower. Next, visit luxurious Johnstown Castle in Wexford for a tour of the Gothic Revival castle and its splendid gardens, designed by one of the 19th century's leading architects. Dine with your group at your hotel. (B, D)
Today, you'll visit the House of Waterford Crystal, a CIE Tours preferred shopping partner. Watch superb artisans create sparkling masterpieces on a factory tour. Next, visit the Midleton Distillery Experience for a fascinating exploration of the whiskey-making process. Arrive in Killarney, where you'll dine at your hotel. (B, D)
Take a jaunting car ride through Killarney National Park to Ross Castle for views of Lough Leane and the MacGillycuddy's Reeks. See the highlights of the Ring of Kerry, Ireland's famed scenic drive. Visit CIE Tours' preferred shopping partner, Moriarty's, in the beautiful Gap of Dunloe before lunch in the charming town of Kenmare. Return to Killarney where you'll enjoy a free evening to dine and explore this friendly town as you wish. (B, L)
Travel north to the Cliffs of Moher, crossing the Shannon Estuary by ferry on your way. Visit the cliffs, taking in the glorious views from 700 feet above the churning Atlantic. Arrive in the vibrant city of Galway, where you'll have dinner with your group. (B, D)
Immerse yourself in rural life with a visit to Glengowla to watch highly trained sheepdogs display their skills. Then take a scenic drive through the breathtaking beauty of Connemara, with its mountains, lakes, and boglands. Visit Kylemore Abbey, a glorious Victorian castle built on a serene lakeside as a romantic gift. Return to Galway, where you'll dine independently and rejoin your group for Trad on the Prom, a thrilling, contemporary show of traditional Irish music, song, and dance (seasonal, on departures from May 15 to September 25). (B)
Depart Galway and travel to the heart of the Curragh Plains to visit Newbridge Silverware, makers of fine homeware and dazzling jewelry for nearly a century. Tour the factory to discover its heritage of craftsmanship, and visit the Museum of Style Icons to see authentic fashions once worn by stars like Princess Grace, Marilyn Monroe, the Beatles, and more. Continue on to the pretty seaside Dublin suburb of Howth for a lively evening of traditional Irish music, song, and dance with dinner at the Abbey Tavern. (B, D)
Explore Dublin independently, using your Hop-On, Hop-Off bus vouchers, including a voucher to visit your choice of one of Dublin's most popular attractions: the Guinness Storehouse, Teeling Whiskey Distillery, EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, Jameson Distillery Bow St. Experience, or the GPO Museum. From our travelers

Dermot, our tour guide, was AMAZINNNGG!!!! His knowledge, personality, sense of humor, and accommodating attitude made Ireland even more of a emerald gem. The accommodations at the Ashford Castle were gorgeous, the itinerary was full and enjoyable and I highly recommend this company and working with Dermot if you are able. Thank you for a memorable and meaningful experience.

Lovely weather an added bonus!

You delivered the program exactly as described. Well done!
Lovely group, great weather and interesting stops. I feel like we really got the feel of the Republic of Ireland.
My only disappointment was the Welcome Reception - which was a bit awkward without a host. Everyone arrived, but no one made introductions or welcomed us to the tour.

Magic in Ireland

This was my first time in Ireland, and this tour was great. Our tour guide was marvelous. I might even go so far as to book the same tour again. We will have to consider other variations, but definitely I will do a guided tour again.

The sheep dog demonstration.

The tour stops and terrific fellow travelers. If one stop could be changed, I omit shopping.
