From our travelers
The itinerary for our trip was excellent, and so were the hotels (two castle stays!) but the absolute best part of the trip was the Tour Director. Joe not only organized and took care of all of us the entire trip, but he shared with us his personal insights and experiences that enhanced the history of Ireland and made it very real for us. I feel this was what made our group become so close, and some of us still keep in touch and plan on taking another trip next year!

2024 Scots Irish Tour - 15 Days/14 Nights
Overall the tour was a great way to experience Ireland and parts of Scotland. However, the trip to the Isle of Skye to see the Armadale castle ruins bypassed Loch Ness and it was too long a trip to see just ruins. The ferry appointment was not scheduled to leave, and made for another long drive to get to our hotel in Dunblane. Ireland was a bit more relaxed and we enjoyed the small towns and sights. A few of the hotels, they were all fantastic, were farther away from the city and didn't allow for sight seeing. Coach breaks could be arranged to see sights instead of just to grab coffee and use the facilities.

Scots Irish Tour - 15 Days/14 Nights-The best tour we have ever done! Beautiful scenery and tour guides/drivers.
The stops to see the scenery, castles, hotels, small towns, shopping ,was fantastic. The food was delicious and memorable. I think the tour guide/drivers made this trip. We were all like a big family on vacation with someone who cared about all the guests on the bus. Lucky us. One of my favorite stops was just out of Belfast to an old pub with so much character, good food, beer and local music ( Crosskeys Inn-Irelands oldest thatched pub). Colm our tour guide/driver treated us to his singing in this pub. Such a beautiful gift to share with all of us.
Oh and Kilronan Castle-Wow!
I think more stops for scenery would have been fun but how do you fit it all in, so much to enjoy!!
The ferry ride from Scotland to Ireland was something like being on a cruise ship. For a 2hr ride it had a bar, restaurant with delicious fish and chips and a spa!!
I am from Canada and our ferrys are not even close to such luxury.
The back pack that CiE provided myself and my husband were great, full of useful things, maps, straps, name tags, plug in adapters. Zippered pouch for pens, combs, paper etc. Nice water bottle. We used the back packs every day!!
The people on the bus, my husband and I, felt that if the bus driver felt comfortable eating with us or had time-we would have loved his company!! Even the guides like Becky!!(the Scottish tour guide)
It is a good way to make lasting friendships.
My husband and I are talking about returning one day and bringing family.
Thank you CIE for a most amazing vacation!!
Wish we were still there.
