Great tours, accommodation, food and scenery. Didn’t like tour guide.

Loved tour of Ireland, Great variety. Great accommodations, food and entertainment. Found tour guide not very friendly towards us, had his favourites, tour geared towards Americans conversationally, which I understand as we were the only non Americans on the bus, disappointed it wasn’t more international people. Tipping was ridiculous, as we already paid a lot of money for the tour. Wouldn’t travel with CIE again based on it really is geared towards Americans, no prejudice (we know and love lots of Americans) and we understand that is your client base, just would have booked differently. I would recommend the tour itself but would caution Canadian friends it’s likely they would be the only non Americans on the tour.

Enjoyable, relaxing, friendly, historical

Tour guide and driver awesome. Enjoyable, relaxing, historical, comfortable. Scenery amazing.

Exceeded Expectations

The Odyssey tour was beyond words! Were able to see so many highlights of Ireland along with places that have such special stories with super cool people! Our tour guide, Colm, was the best ever!!! He was knowledgeable, personable, an amazing driver and my favorite snarky Irishman:) Please share that with him too! The itinerary was great in itself but Colm was the icing on the cake! Highly recommend CIE tours and if you are fortunate enough to get Colm, you won't be disappointed!!!

Unexpected Pleasure

Our tour guide, TJ, took us to even more places than had been promised in the tour description. He was very explicit in his directions and went out of his way to help.

All the stops and accommodations. Some hotels had a coupe of issues. But staff was great. Prefer Kilkenny over Waterford stay though

Our tour guide was amazing! (John Lomasney) I’d request him for another trip there. He had great stories. Knew our names Could drive amazing! He knew Ireland He was wonderful!

Excellent

Great value for the price. The guide, John Lomasney, was excellent. Funny, warm and knowledgeable. The itinerary was fun. I really enjoyed our stop at Sean’s Bar in Athlone.

Beyond our expectations

Everything was better than our expectations! The hotels were wonderful, and our bus driver/ guide was fantastic (John). John deserves 10 stars! The entire schedule was very well orchestrated and the meals were wonderful. The medieval banquet was a treat and the final night’s dinner at The Merry Ploughboy was a fantastic finish to an exceptional week. We will definitely be back with CIE!

Everyone should have a taste of Scotland and Ireland!

Our tour was amazing. We did the tour for our honeymoon and birthday celebration. Mary did a phenomenal job in creating the absolute best experience. We now have wonderful memories to cherish forever. Mary deserves a huge Christmas bonus!

Enjoyed Scotland a lot more than I thought I would- it was third trip to Ireland but had never been to Donegal - nothing like I expected. Tour guide and bus driver as well as local guides were all terrific- hotels were fine but especially great was Kilronan Castle hotel- glad we were there for 2 nights: very enjoyable trip. Becky our Scottish guide was very knowledgeable and gave us a great historical background- she was kind to suggest restaurants and things to see at our extended stops.

Great time and great tour guide, but last hotel was bad.

We loved the CIE tour service! The only reason for the 4 stars was because of the last hotel (Academy). It was not in a safe locatio. Also, the room and bathroom were extremely small. All the hotel accommodations throughout the trip were amazing and this last hotel was a true let down. Left a bad memory for the last night. However, our tour guide was AMAZINNG! Joe was by far the star of this trip! He was so knowledgeable and so genuine.

Honeymoon in Ireland

My husband and I had a great time in Ireland with CIE. Our guide, Leslie, was excellent from start to finish. Everything seemed well organized with forethought which gave us a solid sense of comfort. Nice, clean hotels throughout. Would definitely recommend CIE to others and will most definitely be traveling with them again.

Taste of Italy with Sorrento - 10 Days/9 Nights

We enjoyed this tour immensely. The tour director Diana was fantastic and knowledgeable and we would take another tour with her and CIE. She went above and beyond with recommendations during the tour. The accommodations were great. Can’t wait to do it again.

Scots Irish Tour - 11 Days/10 Nights

The entire trip, while a whirlwind, was a wonderful time. We saw beautiful and interesting places, ate some incredible food, and our guides were incredibly knowledgable, friendly and helpful. I have used CIE tours before and would use them again with no hesitation.

Scottish & Irish Gold - 16 Days/15 Nights

Scottish and Irish Gold was a good trip. My only complaint was our additional day in Dublin at the end of the tour. We had vouchers for the Hop-on-Hop-off bus, but were not able to use them. We walked almost a mile to the bus stop from our hotel and waited 1 1/2 hours in the rain for the bus to come. I had the bus app and they kept saying the bus was coming, but it never did. We walked back to the hotel and decided to take a taxi to the Irish Immigration Museum so we could use our voucher for that, but there were no taxis available. I believe the source of all these problems was the Dublin marathon which really affected the whole city. So if the marathon coincides with the free day in Dublin for future travelers, they need to be aware that they will probably have to walk anywhere they want to go.

Overall we had a very good experience. We wish we could of spent more time in some of the location stops. Also wish the morning starts weren't so early.
