Irish Explorer Perfectly done by CIE

The Tour Director Dominic is a National Treasure and lexicon of all things Irish. He made the tour excellent.

Our first trip to Scotland

All things considered, our tour, Scottish Isles and Glens, was exceptional. Graham Bruce, our tour director, provided us with so much well-rounded information on the area. We got history, geology, sociology all in one trip. He was also very kind and helpful no matter what the situation. Gordon Tait was a wonderful driver. He was very friendly and safety conscious. Both of them really cared about showing us the best of Scotland. The sites on the tour showed us a great mix of Scottish culture, from cities to small little villages. There was something for everyone. Hotels along the tour were fine. Nothing spectacular, but ok accommodations. The food provided was also just ok. Nothing sub-par, but nothing that stuck out as exceptional. My only recommendation would be to plan lunch stops a little more carefully. Lunch is always on your own, which was fine, but a couple of times there really wasn't anything to choose from. If Graham hadn't warned us to take along some snacks, we would have had a hungry day. I would definitely recommend the tour to others, though. The scenery is not to be missed.

Tour director was friendly and knowledgeable. The itenerary was well planned and executed. There was only one problem a reservation somehow was cancelled for a planned stop. However, it was not the fault of the tour director. The staff there was able to accommodate us anyways. Thanks Frankie for a great vacation.

Firstly, Dominic was 100%! Informative and personable. A delight. Most of the hotels were good. Food was good in all but Killarney avenue. Most days were enjoyable. The donegal part was not so much. Florence house was not very interesting and I felt we could have used the day to see the town. The crystal tour was too long, I wanted to see Irish culture . The time in Galway could have been better. Cliffs were awesome! The “ cruise” was not very interesting. Hotel was good.

A great and memorable way to see Ireland and appreciate Ireland!

The Irish Classic was a wonderful tour covering all around Ireland and Northern Ireland. Our tour director Nigel was outstanding, knowledgeable and a gentleman. The accommodations were very nice and well located. In addition to the classic stops, we really enjoyed the CIE exclusives like the visit to the John B Keane pub, the Marine Pub, the Bunraty Castle Medieval dinner, and the Taylors Three Rock visit. One place where it would have been nicer to have a bit more time like another 45 minutes to an hour was the Cliffs of Moher. That is a fascinating and iconic location and we did see it well but felt rushed to take it all in.

Overall this was a wonderful and memorable experience.

Tour name lived up to its expectations. We saw a little bit of a LOT. Definitely could not have covered as much ground in the UK without CIE planning the tour out for me. Our tour director made the trip EXCELLENT! His commentary made the trip come to light. I would recommend this tour.
