It is a well thought out trip. The attention to every detail made it all very enjoyable. The driver was fantastic. Out plans for the day were always explained with local stories about the towns. The accommodations were very good and the meal selections were very good-almost too good.

I thoroughly enjoyed my Clans and Castles tour in June with Ian!

Great itinerary hitting most everything on my bucket list. Ian and John our main driver were able to thrown in several surprises!

Fun Adventure

Everything was well organized and laid out. We just had to show up and be ready to roll. Every day we had one or two adventures planned plus time to explore. Our coach driver had a fun dry sense of humor and the coach wasn't over packed with people.

Great trip around Iceland!

David and Palli were great! The itinerary was diverse, so we felt like we got a good glimpse at Iceland and how the Icelandic people live today and in the past. The hotels were all very nice.

Our tour guide Angela was very friendly and knowledgeable. We really appreciated having excellent tour bus drivers and taxi drivers to and from the airport. The tour sites were very interesting and hotels were great.

4*

very well organized, smooth running. Good hotels, great breakfasts. Good tour guide, lots of interesting extra info. One complaint: the initial "complimentary group drink" was a sit down, 'here are the rules, don't be late ...' - there was no ice breaker, introductions, or moving around - just listen to the spiel then leave - this sort of set the tone for the group ...

A Trip to remember.

Once we departed from the plane in Dublin and picked up our luggage we readily found a CIE tour booth. They quickly arranged our transportation to a lovely Hotel in Dunboyne. Dunboyne was an excellent place to start our trip. The next day we met our driver John Doran. I believe our trip would not have been as good without him. He made the journey enjoyable and safe. John's sense of humor and knowledge of the places we visited was extraordinary.
What I enjoyed about the tour we went to places that I would not have chosen if I went on my own. I was more than pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the choices selected by the tour.
The room accommodations in the Rose Hotel in Tralee was terrible. They gave us a handicap accessible room which was included a wet bathroom, and was not suitable and dangerous for able people. It made the stay there for two nights unpleasant.
The other hotels we stayed were exceptional.

A Trip Worth Taking!

The level of organization to synchronize all the variables in a tour of this type is excellent. All the features of the tour were interesting and a pleasure to experience. Our primary guide and coach driver was as good as can be hoped for, both for his commentary and his driving skills.
There was a lot to keep up with and a pretty busy schedule involved, and handled quite well. We especially enjoyed the events when local story tellers and musicians performed and the sheep dog herding demonstration.
A few minuses: Our room wasn't ready in our Kilkenny hotel even though we arrived a half hour past check in time. The dinners served at the hotels were very similar and while satisfactory to eat were not in any way particularly special. The audio system on the coach was less than ideal, with some static and noise in Peter's presentations.
We're glad we chose to tour Ireland and happy we chose CIE to provide the tour for us.

Ireland with CIE..a little piece of heaven

Outstanding tour from start to finish. The accommodations were outstanding, Tour guide Mr. Dixon was insightful, engaging, a wealth of knowledge and an incredible dry sense of humor. He truly made the tour perfect! The weather being sunny didn't hurt either as it helped clarify Ireland is full of natural beauty

Great tour if you love long bus rides

The tour guides were delightful but spent too many hours on the bus and then not enough time in each town to appreciate what it offered. Food selection was generally the same for breakfast and dinner-needed more variety.

The whole trip was an immersion in Irish history through visiting locations all around the island and through stories told by our tour guide, enhanced by the museum stories and the life stories of everyday people who led walking tours of their city.

I would recommend CIE for the price value & for the cities/sites visited.

The trip included most meals which were all very good. The first hotel in Glasgow was new. It was out of the way when in Glasgow. It would have been better to be in a hotel on or near Buchanan Street. During the city of Glasgow tour and our stop at the Kelvingrove Museum, it would have been better to get their by 1:00 PM and not 3:00 to enjoy the daily pipe organ concert. It was wonderful to stay in the hotel located adjacent to the “Hairy Coo” pasture. It would have been better to have at least one more hour in St. Andrews. The Scottish evening dinner would have been better to have just our group, not two others tour groups with us. The piper was great and enough entertainment. It would have been nice to be in Edinburgh an hour or two longer, as well.

We were served well by CIE Tours.

CIE Tours provided a great experience for my wife and me as we toured Great Britain. The pre trip info was excellent as was the tour itself. The itinerary, guides and drivers were great. We recommend CIE Tours to others.
