DEPOSIT PAYMENTS: A non-refundable land deposit of A$250 per person is required for coach tours, A$150 per person for self drive and city holidays.
CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS: We accept MasterCard and Visa only.
Your travel agent needs to provide us with the cardholder's information, including billing address and must have the holder's signature on file. Your online transactions are secure and all payment details are entered on a secure page and transmitted over Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). As an additional security measure we require CVV2/CVC2 verification on all credit card and debit card transactions.
CREDIT CARD FEE: CIE Tours do not charge a processing fee, however, as our Australian Dollar account is based in Ireland, your bank may charge an additional 0% to 3% of the transaction on your statement as an “International Transaction Fee”. These funds are taken by your bank and are outside of our control.
FINAL PAYMENTS: Full payment must be made no later than 70 days prior to departure date for coach tours and self-drives. CIE Tours accepts payment by above credit cards or Electronic Bank Transfer. If payment is not received as scheduled, your reservation will automatically cancel and deposit payment become forfeit. As your credit card provider may charge 0% to 3% of your final payment transaction (check with your bank) it may be cheaper to transfer funds to our bank account details below. In certain circumstances banks may use a correspondent to make the payment. The correspondent may charge commissions, fees or other charges, when making the payments to our account. Where the deduction is made by the correspondent bank, CIE Tours will receive less than the payment amount specified in your remittance. CIE Tours will update invoices based on funds actually received into our account.
DOCUMENTATION: Tours will incur a fee of A$50 per reservation if they require physical documentation & welcome pack/flight bag etc. Subsequently, we provide electronic documents free of charge for all bookings. Flight bag can be collected at reception of your first nights hotel.
LAND REVISION FEE: Any revision to land arrangements made after the original booking has been processed will incur a A$50 handling fee per booking. We cannot accept revisions within 14 days of departure or once we have issued documents.
PARTICIPANT CANCELLATIONS: All cancellations must be advised in writing (by mail, fax or e-mail) to CIE Tours prior to tour departure during normal business hours (9:00 am to 5:00 pm GMT/BST, Mondays through Fridays). Cancellations received within 70 days of departure date are subject to the following penalties on the land portion:

TRAVEL PROTECTION PLAN: Unfortunately we are unable to offer travel insurance policies to persons travelling on our coach tours, but we do require all passengers to have the appropriate best travel insurance policy. Please ask your local insurance provider/ bank.
TOUR MEMBERSHIP: To promote an enriching travel experience, CIE Tours reserves the right to reject any client whose conduct is incompatible with the interest of the tour group.
TRAVELLERS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS: Passengers necessitating unique attention must advise CIE Tours at time of booking. Passengers who require particular assistance must travel with a qualified travel companion as CIE Tours drivers and guides cannot provide individualized help. As our coaches are not equipped with wheelchair ramps, all tour members must be able to mount 3 or 4 steps into coach. Motorized scooters are unsuitable for touring. CIE Tours is not responsible for denial of services by any of our suppliers. Due to space restrictions, passengers wishing to take wheel chairs, oxygen tanks, walkers or other assistive devices must send a request in writing for approval. CIE Tours reserves the right to remove any individual from a tour who has not provided the advance notification.
COACH TRANSPORTATION: Coach tours are usually operated by 48 seat motor coaches. When passenger numbers are low, a smaller coach may be used. Client seating is rotated daily to allow everyone to sit towards the front of the coach.
TOUR DIRECTOR: The entire land portion of all motorcoach tours is conducted by a professional driver/guide and/or tour director as indicated for each tour. When numbers on a coach tour fall below 25 persons the operator reserves the right to substitute our tour director with a qualified driver/guide.
ACCOMMODATION: Land arrangements are provided as described in each tour program. CIE Tours reserves the right to substitute hotels for accommodations in similar categories. Accommodation in B&Bs (farmhouses, town and country homes) is clean, comfortable and includes private bathrooms.
MEALS: Meals are provided as specified in each tour program. Dinners in hotels are on a table d'hóte basis.
SPECIALISED DIET: On your tour, CIE Tours can only guarantee western vegetarian or vegan meals as this policy is passed to us by our suppliers. Normally hotels/restaurants will offer at least one of meat/fish/vegetarian option on all of our tours. Meal requests outside of this cannot be guaranteed prior to travel. Guests that have restrictive or specific requirements (including Halal or Kosher products or Jain vegetarian dishes) sometimes take their own food with them which hotels will cook for them.
VISITS, ENTERTAINMENT AND OTHER FEATURES: CIE Tours reserves the right to substitute visits, entertainment and other features when establishments are closed or cannot be visited for reasons beyond our control.
CIE TOURS CANCELLATIONS: If it becomes necessary to cancel a coach tour prior to departure, at the discretion of the company, CIE Tours will offer the next available date at no additional land cost or will make a full refund of all monies paid to CIE Tours. CIE Tours cannot accept responsibility for any additional costs or fees relating to such a tour booking or for any cancellation penalties due to non-refundable airfares, unless ticket is purchased from CIE Tours. Airline penalties may apply.
LUGGAGE: Handling of one piece of luggage per person is included in the cost of all coach tours. Only one suitcase per person is permitted and size should not exceed 30 x 20 x 10 inches and weight should be under 50lbs. Luggage is carried at owner's risk throughout the tour unless insured. Hand baggage and small articles such as coats, umbrellas or cameras are entirely in the care of the passengers. Boot space in self-drive cars is limited so pack lightly, preferably using soft-sided suitcases.
TIPS: Tips for personal services and to tour directors and drivers are not included in tour cost and left to your discretion.
CHILDREN: Children under 8 are not permitted to travel on coach tours. Children 8 or over are charged the full adult rate (less 10% discount) and must travel with an adult.
SMOKING POLICY: Smoking is not allowed on the motorcoach but frequent stops are made throughout the day.
NOT INCLUDED: All items of a personal nature (room service, beverages, telephone charges, laundry, special food requests, etc.) and meals not specified on the tour itinerary are not included and must be paid by the passenger.
UNUSED TOUR ARRANGEMENTS: CIE Tours cannot make refunds or exchanges for unused accommodations, services or features of any tour unless agreed upon prior to departure.
CLAIMS OR DISPUTES: You should submit to CIE Tours in writing no later than 28 days after the end of the tour.
LAW: Passenger contract with CIE Tours is subject exclusively to Irish Law and Jurisdiction for Irish Tours or English Law and Jurisdiction for British Tours.
CAR RENTAL INSURANCE: Car rental charges include Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), theft protection (TP), unlimited mileage and local taxes. Please read the following clauses closely to see how the hirer can purchase supplementary insurances. Collision Damage Waiver indemnifies the driver against damage to the rental car. The various charges listed below must all be paid at start of hire in Ireland.
SUPER CDW: To insure against CDW deductible amounts above, the hirer may purchase a Super CDW. Super CDW does not cover tires, wheels, fuel contamination or loss of keys. Daily cost: €12.00-€22.00
DRIVER/BAGGAGE PROTECTION (DBP/PAI): DBP protects the driver. Daily cost: €5.50
AGE LIMITS: 25-75 years. Certain conditions apply for drivers 76-79 years. Drivers aged 23-24 years are restricted to car types A, B & E and pay a daily surcharge of €26.00.
EXTRA DRIVER(S) SUPPLEMENT: Daily cost per additional driver: €9.50
CAR RENTAL TAXES (VAT) & VEHICLE LICENSE FEE: Included in basic rental cost.
DRIVING LICENSE: Drivers must have one year's driving experience and produce a valid driving license with no endorsements, issued in their state/country of residence.
PETROL/PARKING FEES: Hirer is responsible.
CAR RENTAL CATEGORIES: Car rental companies reserve the right to substitute cars for other models in similar category.
CAR RENTAL TAXES (VAT): Included in basic rental cost.
CHAUFFEUR-DRIVE CARS: Rates are calculated on a maximum driving time of 8 hours per day.
RESPONSIBILITY: CIE Tours International (“CIE Tours”) is a division of Coras Iompair Eireann (“CIE”) and has its offices at 35 Lower Abbey Street, Dublin 1. References in this clause to CIE include reference to CIE Tours.
If any tour (whether together with any linked travel arrangements or otherwise) constitutes a package travel contract in respect of which CIE Tours is the organiser, within the meaning of the European Union (Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements) Regulations 2019, then CIE Tours shall be responsible, to the extent stated in those Regulations, for the proper performance of all travel services included in such package travel contract, irrespective of whether those services are to be performed by CIE Tours or by other travel service providers. A copy of the European Union (Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements) Regulations 2019 will be provided by CIE Tours to a passenger on request.
Subject to the above, and to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law, CIE is not liable or responsible for any direct, indirect, consequential, or incidental damage, loss, expense and/or cost (including without limitation, professional fees), whether arising from any accident, injury, disease, death, property damage, delay, inconvenience or irregularity of any kind or otherwise (each a “Loss”) which may be occasioned by reason of any act or omission by any natural person or organisation other than CIE (each a “Person”) and/or any other event beyond the control of CIE, including, without limitation (a) any willful or negligent act, failure to act, breach of contract, default (including, without limitation, any financial default or insolvency) or violation of local law or regulation of or by any Person (including, without limitation, any tour operator, transport provider, accommodation provider, food and/or beverage provider, entertainment provider, baggage handler, driver, guide and/or other service provider) (b) delay or change in schedule (including without limitation, flight cancellation or misconnection), (c) overbooking, (d) attack by animals, (e) sickness, (f) lack of appropriate medical care, (g) evacuation, (h) weather, (i) strike or other industrial action, (j) act of God or government, (k) act of terrorism, or the threat thereof, (l) war, or the threat thereof, (m) quarantine, (n) epidemic, or the threat thereof, (o) criminal activity and/or any other cause beyond the control of CIE, whether or not such cause constitutes force majeure.
IMPORTANT: Passengers must bear all such Losses. To guard against such Losses, we strongly recommend that you travel with a suitable comprehensive travel insurance policy which you should purchase at home before travelling on any tour with CIE Tours.
All tickets and vouchers are issued and supplied by CIE Tours subject to the foregoing and subject to any and all terms and conditions under which any relevant travel services are provided by any Person.
CIE Tours reserves the right at its sole discretion to alter the itinerary as it may deem necessary or advisable. CIE Tours also reserves the right at its sole discretion to decline to accept or to retain any passenger on any of its tours if it deems accepting or retaining any such person as being detrimental to the tour. In the event that any passenger is removed from a tour, then (subject to applicable law, including without limitation, the European Union (Consumer Information, Cancellation and Other Rights) Regulations 2013), CIE Tour’s only obligation is to refund to that person that portion of the payment allocable to unused services.
Any disclaimer of liability by CIE under this clause is enforceable to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. Each of the provisions of this clause is severable and if any such provision is held by any court or other competent authority to be illegal, void or unenforceable in whole or in part, the legality, validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions of this clause shall not be affected or impaired.
Changes to the RESPONSIBILITY CLAUSE can be made only in writing signed by an officer of CIE Tours.
ARBITRATION: Any dispute or difference of any kind whatsoever which arises or occurs between any of the parties hereto in relation to anything or matter arising under, out of or in connection with this contract shall be referred to arbitration under the Arbitration Rules of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators – Irish Branch. Claims for less than the jurisdiction of the District Court Small claims procedure per booking form may be pursued through the Small Claims Court. All claims in excess of the jurisdiction of the District Court Small Claims procedure shall be referred to arbitration (details of Arbitration available on request).

Any devaluation or revaluation of currencies may affect published prices.
