slide Day 1Dublin City Tour & Teeling Whiskey Distillery

Depart from your hotel at 2:00 PM for a panoramic tour of the city. Highlights include 18th-century Georgian houses with brightly painted doors, tranquil parks, and historic O’Connell Street. Visit Teeling Whiskey Distillery in the heart of the historic Liberties area for a tour and tasting. In the evening, enjoy a welcome drink with your group at the hotel, and then you are free to explore the city and dine as you wish.  
Enjoy the delightful scenery of the Wicklow Mountains on the way to Glendalough. Explore the remains of one of the most important monastic sites in Ireland, founded by St. Kevin in the 6th century. Walk through the deep valley to view the picturesque ruins of a round tower, churches, and Celtic crosses. Head southeast to the Dunbrody Famine Ship, an authentic reproduction of an 1840s vessel that brought desperate Irish emigrants fleeing famine to the New World. Guinness Pint

The Adventure tour was ideal for getting to see many different areas of Ireland as well as major attractions. The hotels were comfortable and the food was always good. The choice of places to stop for lunch gave us a chance to dine in a really old Irish pub as well as taste traditional dishes.

A wonderful time in the Emerald Isle.

The coach was nice and clean. Our driver, Patrick, was professional, informative, friendly and above all an excellent driver. He negotiated some very difficult situations with ease and skill.
The itinerary of the tour itself was good; having never been to Ireland before, I think we saw a great deal of what we were supposed to see in the country. The hotels for the most part, were adequate but not great. Our room at the International Hotel in Killarney was very small and we were very cramped for space. The Croke Park Hotel was not a good choice as it is directly across from the Croke Park stadium and there happened to be a big soccer game there on our night there. It was madness inside and outside the hotel.
The food was very good, but a bit monotonous thru the trip.
Overall, we had a wonderful time and would use CIE again on any future trips.

Excellent Comprehensive Tour of Ireland

Friendly people in all the hotels and towns. Tours were well planned and informative. Driver was very knowledgeable. Very organized tour. Pre tour information was very useful. Hotels were nice and food was good however, meals were rushed. Would like more time and not be made to order immediately after sitting down. Tour guide /driver was awesome.

Excellentt tour of Ireland.

I definitely recommend CIE. I will be using them for Scotland. I had an excellent driver. I traveled solo and felt comfortable. I met some great people by doing this tour. I loved the Causeway and Kilarney... The Irish hospitality is wonderful.

Don’t miss CIE’s Irish Adventure

I thought CIE did a great job! The accommodations were wonderful with boutique type hotels that were above average. Most had no air conditioning, but that didn’t matter with the cool evening temperatures. Our tour guide, Patrick, was also wonderful…very knowledgeable and a Killarney native. The stops along the way were all spectacular! The food and supplied meals were plentiful and mostly delicious. One suggestion is to build in more time for meals…we felt rushed for several meals.

The included tours were also mostly wonderful. The only one I would pass on was the Titanic museum in Belfast. It was very very crowded, had WAY too much information to even begin to get through (on limited time) and it was very confusing. It was a disappointment to us. You’re on the bus a lot, but that’s the nature of the beast. The bus was comfortable and since we paid to be in a smaller group, we had only 26 people and could move around and stretch out on the bus. I’d highly recommend going with a smaller group.

All in all, we were very pleased and would highly recommend CIE’s Irish Adventure trip!

Fabulous Swirl Around the Emerald Isle

This adventure began in Dublin, circled the island counter clockwise, and wrapped in Dublin. I cannot say enough good things! The bus driver/tour guide Patrick was iconic and steeped in his country's history, sharing just enough tidbits to give a first timer a rich glimpse into Ireland and the North of Ireland. I feel like I really got to know Ireland's past and present, the food was delicious, and the territory covered tremendous. The trip is fast paced, which for me was wonderful, as I then was able to hang out with an Irish friend afterward for more leisurely meander.
