Scottish Isles & Glens Tour - a wonderful trip
We booked the Scottish Isles and Glens tour for 13 days in early September. We enjoyed the trip, learned a lot and enjoyed some wonderful scenery. The sites visited were interesting with a good variety: castles, estates and cathedrals; gardens, and little stops along the way to enjoy the scenery. The mix of indoor and outdoor venues was also appreciated as it was nice to be outside.
Stephen, our tour guide, was very good at providing background information or history of the sites. He was attentive to our group, answered our questions, and clearly set out the day's plans and length of time at each stop. He gave us space to explore on our own at the attractions, but was always present and available to provide information or guidance.
Our bus driver, Phil, was always friendly and engaged with the tour guests. He was amazing at managing the traffic and maneuvering many narrow roads and tight turns.
The accommodations were comfortable; a couple were a bit small and there were issues at one hotel. However, there were two other hotels which were very notable with a lot of character. The meals at the hotels were good with a few options for the entrees.
The transfers to and from the airport were convenient and well coordinated.
Overall, it was an enjoyable and memorable vacation.

top notch
Everything from the pick up at the airport to the return trip to the airport was absolutely top notch. Our guide/driver Phillip was absolutely terrific. He was extremely knowledgeable about all the locations our our tours. And the way he navigated those curvy roads was nothing less than stellar. It was a truly wonderful experience. The village of Adare was absolutely charming. Everyone that we interacted with from hotel staff to store proprietors to bar tenders were extremely friendly and helpful.

Excellent!!
Our CIE tour guide Sean was such a great host for our trip. He was super knowledgeable with all the stops and provided entertainment in between the stops. Our accommodations were well fitted, and the food that was provided was top-notch. I traveled solo on this trip and never once felt alone. Everyone was very welcoming.

Scots Irish Tour - 15 Days/14 Nights
Loved seeing the two countries but could use more free time as the best locations we did not. The drivers, guides and tour information were great. Saw quite a bit of Scotland and Ireland and the hotels were mostly nice. The food choices not the best and a bit redundant.

Ireland South Daytripper - 7 Days/6 Nights
Family trip
This was a family vacation to explore our Irish heritage. The tour was a great way to see the country without having to plan it ourselves. Our driver, Sean, was amazing! He was very knowledgeable and gave us great insight on the sights we were visiting as well as the history of Ireland. He was extremely helpful in every way possible. Always checking to make sure we were comfortable and satisfied with our experience. The hotel in Adair was wonderful. The food was delicious and the staff was great. Our room was a good size that allowed my daughter and myself enough space to share comfortably. The overall pace of the tour was good; however, I would definitely add more time at Blarney Castle. It wasn't possible to eat lunch in town before standing in line to kiss the stone and explore the grounds. We opted to grab a quick bite at the cafe on the grounds and still felt rushed to make it back to the bus on time. If the line for the top of the castle was longer, (as indicated by the signs it can be) we wouldn't have had enough time to see the grounds at all.
I would skip the train ride to Cobh and include the Titanic museum. I don't think the train added any value to the overall experience. Although our guide did give us great information on the area, it still felt like a modern train ride to a location. I don't feel like it enhanced the experience. My daughter and I did not enjoy Dublin. Although the private lunch and entertainment on the way there was great, and the hotel was lovely, by the time we checked in and got settled, there was little time left to explore the city, have dinner and be back in time to get some sleep before an early flight departure. The hop on hop off bus was a little confusing for us, so we were unable to use it. We would have loved to visit the cemetery or Dublin Castle; however, we were unable to do so due lack of transportation and time constraints. I feel Dublin itself was a wasted day that could have been better spent elsewhere. Perhaps a leisurely day exploring a village and really getting a feel for the Irish lifestyle and countryside. All that being said, it was a great experience.

Had an AWESOME stress free Trip
The trip was absolutely great. Bus was very clean and all the Trips were great, it was so nice to just be able to watch and not have to worry about the driving. It was so stress free, I was picked up at airport after the plane was delayed 3 hours, room's were absolutely great, food was also very good, our tour guide Philip was absolutely awesome I learned so much about Ireland's history, and was so glad I didn't have to do the driving on the roads.

Scottish Dream - 9 Days/8 Nights
This was our second CIE tour, first being Ireland four years ago. The tour was very informative, perfect amount of information shared with the participants. We enjoyed the itinerary, driver and tour director were excellent.

Mystical Ireland - 8 Days/7 Nights
CIE's Mystical Tour in Ireland is a Wonderful Experience
The Mystical tour is an outstanding route. I wanted to see Northern Island, Wild Atlantic Way which included Donegal and Westport. I felt the gift shop in Ardara could have offered more options for all passengers. We live in the south of the U.S. and woolen sweaters and flat caps are not a priority. Many woolen mills offer a wider array of gifts. I was also disappointed the tour did not stop near Slieve League in County Donegal. I've seen the Cliffs of Moher several times. While an amazing location, seeing Slieve League would have been memorable.
The hotels were mostly excellent except in Westport where we stayed at the Wyatt. The dinner service and breakfast the first morning were not a positive experience. The 2nd day was a totally different experience. I felt the final driver was driving too fast at times, although I understand they have a schedule to keep. Our guides were amazing! As was our tour guide Joe. He was funny and knowledgeable. Overall a really wonderful experience.

Would highly recommend!
Great places to visit, feel like we got a good representation of the historic sites and local culture in each of the places we went. Our guide Phil C. and driver Lee where very nice and Phil was very knowledgeable on the places we went. They were able to navigate our trip smoothly and we saw some great places on our trip. Everything ran smoothly and Phil was very receptive to any questions anyone in the group had.

Well organized tour
Well planned with a fantastic tour guide. A very good hotel in a nice area of London. No unpleasant surprises. Our drivers to and from the airport were on time and very nice.. Our daily coach driver could not have been better. As mentioned, our tour guide was the best. We saw a lot without feeling rushed.

Must Do Adventure
Our Tour Guide Stephen Boyd and Bus Driver Mark Beard did an excellent job making this Scotland trip an adventure throughout the 12 tour days. Loved the bus tour and sights overall. Memorable sightseeing on the Isle of Bute including Mount Stuart House; the Castles including Eilean Donan, Dunvegan, Dunrobin, and Edinburgh; Loch Lomond, Inverwe Gardens & the Isle of Skye; the Orkney Islands (our favorite); Loch Ness, Culodan Battlefield, & sheep dog demo by Neil. Favorite Hotel was Crieff Hydro. Loved Edinburgh and super Tattoo with good seats (Novotel was good hotel & location near the Castle). The Edinburgh Hop on/off Bus was least favorite day because process to get usable tickets was too complex and too limited, suggest another activity for that final day in Edinburgh.

Taste of Ireland (Tour A) - 7 Days/6 Nights
Great tour!
It showed us many of the beautiful spots in Ireland in a relatively short time. It was great! The service for our tour was great. Our tour guide/ driver Michael Coleman was amazing. He was so informative, helpful interesting, funny and he had everything running perfectly. He was also a great bus driver. I would definitely do another CIE TOUR because this was such an amazing experience.

Surprised
Taking a coach tour was new for us, but we were pleasantly surprised with good choices for stops in small towns & villages. Sometimes we did feel a bit rushed, but a schedule had to be kept. So nice to have a plan & necessary tickets provided! Lisa is an excellent guide! Her information & organization were top notch! Hotel accommodations were very good! Stops in small towns & villages were great. Our guide Lisa provided very entertaining & interesting information along the way. Nice to have a schedule & provided tickets. Tattoo was awesome!!

Jewels of Ireland - 14 Days/13 Nights
Wonderful trip!! We love the people of Ireland and their beautiful country!
Our bus was clean and well driven by Mike!!! Our tour guide surpassed our expectations with his humor and knowledge. Brian our tour guide was beyond our expectations. His knowledge and , of course, his sense of humor made the trip exciting and fun. Mike our driver was fantastic on those tight Irish roads. The trip was well organized and created a trip of a lifetime. We got to meet the fabulous people of Ireland and see the most beautiful sites!! I highly recommend this trip. The only negative would be a little more variety of foods offered in the hotel meals. They were well prepared. Added adventures to small pubs off the beaten path to experience the people and music of Ireland made the trip unique. We really saw Ireland and felt the people of Ireland!!!
