CIE did a great job making our trip easy and interesting.

We were very happy with CIE's planning and the way they made everything....including packing, handling luggage, and getting around work so well. We hadn't traveled for several years, so we were feeling insecure. But we appreciated the way the booking was so easy through our travel agent.

The trip itself was great. Some of the hotels were just OK.

Awesome experience

My wife & I experienced a wonderful vacation in Ireland. CIE made the trip a great vacation by taking care of everything from the first step off the plane in Dublin till the day we left from Dublin. Everything from hotel accommodations, movement of luggage from bus to room & room to bus, transportation and tours. Our guide, David, was very knowledgeable and his insight and recommendations were “spot on”. We would definitely travel with CIE again and recommend there service to our family & friends.

Our tour director, Brian Hanrahan was amazing - he told hilarious stories, provided comprehensive information about Irish culture and history, and helped us in countless ways have the best trip possible. His warm, engaging manner put us all at ease, while he expertly drove us all around Ireland, continually pointing out interestIng things and telling us about his beloved country. Brian, you opened my heart and mind to Ireland. Can’t wait to come back!!

Highly recommend CIE Tours

Our second tour with CIE, and it was just as wonderful as the first!! The hotels were excellent, food was excellent, the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about everything Scotland!!! Everything that was supposed to be included was included unlike a tour we took with a different company in Italy.

An Ireland Experience

Hassle free and completed expeditiously.

great tour and tour guide (Johnny) Nice tour buses. Great group. The only hotel that was not great was the Dromoland (needs a lot of work and cleanliness)

Actual tour is worth it

The tour itself and the the tour guide, David, were fantastic.

Where there were issues was with my initial booking and then payment of the total. I’m in Australia so I ring the Australian number listed on the CIE website for help. That then puts me through to the Dublin office and I’m told to leave a message. After days no one calls me back so I email and the initial response was that I should not have called that number. Long story short, if it hadn’t been the fact that this was my third tour and I knew it was worth the hassle, I wouldn’t have continued to peruse my booking. I NEVER had any issues booking my previous two tours and if I had questions I rang the Australian number on the website and spoke to a human.

Competent and friendly

Such An Amazing Experience

I had been told by my local AAA agent that if I wanted to go to the UK, I should book with CIE tours. I chose the Essence of Britain and Ireland (almost chose a different tour but glad that I picked this one to start off with because of the inclusion of England and Wales) because of the itinerary and chose to get to London a day prior to the start of the tour (which I’m glad I did and suggest people due). We ended up having Dee and Mark as our guide and driver for our tour, since there was only 13 of us, it made it more intimate and special. Both were fantastic and made the days of traveling so comfortable.

The only complaint me and the others had was the transfer from Heathrow to the first airport. We all had some kind of difficulty finding the driver. I ended up having to call the transfer company and speak to 2 other drivers before finally finding mine. Supposedly we needed to call and confirm with the company 24-48 hours before leaving. After informing Dee that we all had trouble with them, she called and confirmed our pickup times for everybody 48 hours before the end of the tour so we didn’t haven’t to worry about it and enjoy the tour. She really went above and beyond with that.

Good booking service, friendly contact over the phone, detailed information and advice for airline and pre/post-tour hotels.

Booking was easy. We researched the tours using a brochure and online. Called the NA Office and completed our booking within minutes.

It might have been a little confusing with my original booking, since my travel partner was in Pittsburgh & I was traveling from Cleveland, but had some issues with getting certain portions of the trip set up for 2 people traveling together, but from different locations. A couple extra phone calls and clearer communication finally got the reservations correct.

Other than a poor room one night, everything went well.
