Taste of Scotland & Ireland - 11 Days/10 Nights
Enjoyable tour of highlights of Scotland and Ireland
CIE tour of Scotland and Ireland in early May was the first guided tour my husband and I have taken, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We got to see many of the highlights of both countries while transported on a comfortable bus by knowledgeable guides and driver. We especially enjoyed seeing the natural sights, including the Scottish highlands, the Irish coast and Cliffs of Moher, and the beautiful gardens in Ireland. The food was excellent, including the meals we ate at local pubs and restaurants while on free evenings (and reasonably priced). Our hotels were all comfortable and many were very upscale in amenities. We also liked the talks the guides Laurence and Meg gave on the history of the places we visited. All of the locals we met were friendly and welcoming. Both my husband and I highly recommend CIE tours for their well organized and enlightening tours.

CIE Impresses Again
We chose to use CIE Tours as our tour guides in Scotland after our fabulous trip with them in Ireland. They did not disappoint. The guide and the bus driver were second to none on their knowledge of Scotland and extremely personable. The stops that CIE chose for our tour were excellent. We saw so much and the tour wanted us coming back for more, which we will do in the future. We highly recommend CIE Tours for planning your trip to Scotland!

Scottish & Irish Dream - 14 Days/13 Nights
Personable and professional
CIE took the major headaches of international travel away from our focus and made it their duty to organize, craft, and deliver for us. We saw so much more of Scotland and Ireland than we would have if we had to manage the details and plan the itinerary. Nice people, dependable travel equipment and accommodations, and a good value for our catered experiences.

Irish Legends - 10 Days/9 Nights
Wonderful
This was the first tour we did overseas and from the very beginning the service was very good. The tour package sent and backpack were all great. However there was a problem with the flight from our originating city(Syracuse NY) which we had arranged on our own. We ended up missing our connecting flight from Boston to Dublin but Eileen Carey was fantastic helping us get onto the next available flight from Boston. I can't say enough about the extent she went to in getting that done for us. Many many thanks to Eileen!

Wonderful!
Our tour guide was wonderful! So knowledgeable and was able to manage any bumps in the road so that things worked out well. The tours at our destinations were so informative. And the scenery was beautiful. The food was absolutely outstanding and so were the hotel accommodations.

Scottish Day Tripper
Before my trip I called on several occasions to ask questions, and everyone was kind and helpful. My trip started May the 9th in Glasgow and ended in Edinburgh. The hotels were in ideal locations as you could step out of your hotel and explore. I wouldn't change a thing about the tour; it was fantastic! Our tour guide, Austin (pictured) was knowledgeable, kind and funny. It was a dream trip.

Classic Sicily - 8 Days/7 Nights
Decent experience with a few recommendations for CIE
Visiting Sicily was a life long dream of mine due to my heritage. I have to say that it was beautiful but the tour itself was a bit dissappointing in several ways. Unfortunately most had to do with the tour guide. Poor communication with changes to itinerary and not very knowledgeable about many of the sights on the tour. Honestly seemed disinterested. However the quides for our walking tours did make up for the lack of the tour guides knowledge. When talking to the group on the bus she may have been talking to herself as we couldn't hear but her perhaps it was because she spoke facing forward. The winery tour was ok however it was not what I personally expected. While it was informative the enviorment was very modern without that old world feel. The Honey tour was a waste of time. We all expected to see how the honey was processed but instead it was just a place to purchase honey, olives and oil. With olive trees everywhere in abundance perhaps replace the Honey tour with a visit to an olive grove to see how all those olives get processed into oil. The Hotels were all great however the food at these places left much to be desired. I'd suggest adding more local dinning experiences instead of eating a the hotels. The bus was very comfortable and clean.
Even though I had a few negative things to say here I would totally recommend CIE Tours and just hope you have a good tour guide. They really do make a difference in the experience. Guess we expected the same level from the guide as we experienced on our Ireland tour last year. We will be using CIE tours again in the near future.
