Great Trip and Service

Making my reservation with CIE was very easy. After selecting my tour, I was able to communicate with a representative and get all of my questions answered. Everything was done online and was easily completed. Communication was good as far as letting me know when payments were expected and when I would receive my trip information. Having CIE make my flight reservation made it a much more pleasant experience. Nothing to worry about on my part.

Disorganized company

Terrible, disorganized, slow to respond, messed up flight details many times and still bad in end with 4hour layover which was not needed based on American flight schedules noted online, poor explanation of tour detail, poor follow-up in general, only good thing was the tour guide who did an excellent job

I liked the option to have a smaller group tour. That’s more my style. Our driver/guide was outstanding. Great hotels.

Would be nice if pre-trip info could’ve been mailed to Canada. Makes no sense to receive at destination.

A fantastic tour overall! Our director, Lisa R., led us through the United Kingdom in such a way that we had a great time, made new friends, and always knew what to expect. It was a family-geared, small-group tour titled Knights and Wizards. The only odd thing was the inclusion of a West End show that did not really fit with the theme- but we still enjoyed it! If you want to get a more in-depth look at an area, I highly recommend CIE. I traveled with them about 20 years ago for the first time. Sticking around this long definitely means you are doing things right. Good pre-trip communication and easy to 'start' the tour at the hotel lobby. Itinerary from the website was followed and Lisa always gave us a nice detailed schedule the day before so we knew approximate times for everything. We got fast-tracked at EVERY attraction we went to, walking around huge lines of tourists that were not lucky enough to be with our group. It would have been impossible for us to do as much as we did on this tour if we had decided to do it on our own. I also highly recommend the smsll-group tour size as we got to know everyone in our group and had plenty of space to spread out if willing to be in the back half of the bus- which we enjoyed. The falconry demonstration was my favorite part of the trip but going to the Nant Gwrtheyrn Language Center, getting into Windsor Castle, going to Warner Bros. Harry Potter Studio, riding the London Eye, visiting the British Music Experience, and spending the evening in Llandudno were up there!

Your booking group was extremely organized. All my questions/concerns were addressed. I enjoyed/appreciated all the "to do" lists that were provided as well as the luggage strap, back pack and outlet converter. Great customer service!

The best part of the trip was the bus driver/guide. His abilities, concern or our enjoyment and safety, and his solid knowledge in all things Irish was amazing. This made the trip a better experience than on some other tours. Only improvement would be the itinerary using the "hop on, hop off" item. This does not work well with the time allowed and the distance to the hotel. It is not user friendly.

Repeat customer

This is the second tour that we have taken with CIE. It will not be the last. Booking is simple. Agendas are diverse - can find one that fits any timeframe and interests.

The Best of Russia, Baltic States & Warsaw

We enjoyed the tour very much. Our tour director Ilya was outstanding. The hotels we stayed in were first-rate, as were the provided meals. The only negatives were that our tour of the Hermitage in Saint Petersburg did not include the Gold Room but spent about 3 hours to see French paintings. I can see those in Paris. One other minor thing is that the brochure says the bus will have WI-FI but our bus did not. Also be aware that without booking many optional tours you will potentially miss out on important sights like Peterhof, unless you make your own arrangements to see them. Overall, I thought the tour provided good quality and value.

The tour guide was professional and friendly. I was wary of travelling with a group My wife and I had done a organised tour with another company several years ago and the group was not disciplined and there were arguments on the amount of free time and bus seating. These were non existent on our CIE tour. I don't know how much this was just luck with a good bunch of fellow travellers, and how much was due to the organizational.
