slide Day 1Dublin City Tour | Dublin Castle | Merry Ploughboy Pub
At 2:00 PM, meet your tour director in the hotel lobby and depart for a panoramic tour of Dublin. Drive through the lively streets with a local guide, seeing this historic city’s highlights: Trinity College, elegant Georgian homes, and modern buildings rising by the River Liffey. Visit Dublin Castle for a guided tour and see the splendid State Apartments; for centuries the seat of colonial power in Ireland, this impressive complex is today a place for official ceremonies. Return to your hotel for a welcome drink with your group, then head to the Merry Ploughboy Pub for a dinner of Irish specialties and a lively show with traditional music and step-dancing. (D)
Travel through lush green countryside on your way to Blarney Castle. Along the way, stop for photos of the stately ruins of the Rock of Cashel on their hilltop perch. At Blarney, climb the winding staircase to kiss the legendary Blarney Stone and gain the gift of the gab, or wander the beautiful gardens. Arrive in the friendly lakeside town of Killarney, where you’ll dine at your hotel this evening. (B, D)
Visit CIE Tours preferred shopping partner Moriarty’s in the beautiful Gap of Dunloe, before embarking on the famed Ring of Kerry scenic drive. The winding, 100-mile route reveals breathtaking coastal and mountain views, with plenty of photo stops. Pause for a casual lunch in a cozy restaurant. Continue on to Valentia Island to visit the Skellig Experience, a visitor center telling the story of the neighboring island of Skellig Michael, which you’ll see off the coast. Learn how this island, a filming location for “Star Wars,” was once the austere home of early Christian monks. Stop for a stroll around the quaint, colorful village of Sneem, and at Moll’s Gap for panoramic views of Ireland’s highest mountains. Visit a farm to see a demonstration of skilled dogs herding sheep. Return to Killarney and enjoy a free evening to dine and discover the pubs as you wish. (B, L)
Leave Killarney, taking a 20-minute ferry ride across the River Shannon before driving along the coast of County Clare to the Cliffs of Moher, a spectacular wall of sandstone soaring almost 700 feet above the Atlantic. Continue on to your hotel. In the evening, enjoy a medieval-style feast of traditional Irish fare at a castle. Lords and ladies will serenade you with songs and harp music evocative of medieval times. (Please note that January departures may offer a different dining experience.) (B, D)

Taste of Ireland (Tour D) - 6 Days/5 Nights-Truly enjoyed my time in Ireland. Would go back again.

I enjoyed Ireland tremendously, we booked with one of first Bus tours that we looked into.
Which was CIE Tours. In my opinion it is the best way to see most of the scenic views, stop to have fresh fish for lunch, stopping to shop at Moriarty’s incredible hand made wool sweaters and many other beautiful garments, and gift ideas. The tour company took care of booking hotels, recommended which places are knowen for wonderful meal.
We didn’t have to worry. The Bus Driver was truly knowledgeable about the history of Ireland and shared as we rolled along. It was great I would choose CIE Tours again.loved the people, food , music.

Taste of Ireland (Tour A) - 7 Days/6 Nights

It was great value for our money and our tour guide, Patrick, was amazing. He was so knowledgeable about the culture, history, and people of Ireland. It was fascinating to hear from him as we made our way around Ireland on the tour bus. We took our adult children, their partners (wife and fiance), and grandson (11 years old) and we had an incredible time full of fabulous, life-long memories.

The days were full, meals were truly a taste of Ireland, entertainment was all that we hoped for, scenery was more than we could have imagined. We loved our family trip through Ireland and would highly recommend CIE Tours!

Taste of Ireland (Tour A) - 7 Days/6 Nights-Beautiful country, people, and music! Outstanding experience!

Wonderful trip that I can't stop raving about! My first CIE tour, at the recommendation of friends - and I've already looked into others since I returned with a heart full of love for the beautiful country and people of Ireland. Lovely hotels and a nice blend of organized activity and free time. We especially enjoyed the Epic Museum, Guinness Storeroom tour, Blarney castle and beautiful grounds, the baby lambs (SO cute!) at the sheepdog herding exhibition, the lovely and sometimes heartachingly beautiful Irish ballads in the pubs, and the Cliffs of Moher. I can't say enough good things about our driver / guide Pat. Extremely well organized, knowledgeable and entertaining. courteous, focused on safety, and absolutely charming and delightful! He shared aspects of his personal life which gave us insight into life in current day Ireland and made the history of Ireland fascinating - one aspect of the trip I had not anticipated. Also notable on this trip was the daily rotation of assigned seating on the very comfortable, wi-fi equipped bus - front, back, and window seats - and frequent stops to get out and stretch, use restrooms, get a beverage or snack, take pictures, etc. After I returned, I felt like I had woken up in the middle of a beautiful dream and didn't want it to be over. Absolutely loved it - highly recommended!

Our experience was 10/10. Loved our scheduling contact - Ian McCarthy. Patrick was our guide in Ireland and was PHENOMOENAL! He was knowledgeable, funny, easy going, personable - everything you would hope a guide would be and more. We bought the trip insurance and needed to use it because we ran into hiccups that we created ourselves and missed our first flight. Having someone to call to help reschedule flights was fantastic. The price was perfect and I loved that almost everything was included. The stops were great along the tour and gave good insight to places I'd like to go back and visit.

Because of the early departures each morning we were able to travel and see so many special and historic sites from one side of the country to the other. The continuous dialogue from our driver Austin gave us so much local and historical information.
