Terrific Trip and Well Worth It!

We just returned from the eleven day Taste of Scotland and Ireland tour. It was an AWESOME trip! We were amazed by the beauty of both countries and the kindness of the people. Our guide in Scotland, Alsdair, shared so much of the history of each of the areas we visited. Loch Lomond and the Loch Ness cruise were beautiful, and Edinburgh Castle and city were wonderful!

Crossing to Ireland by ferry, we visited Titanic Belfast, learning about the ship and the people. We also toured Dublin, kissed the Blarney Stone, and enjoyed a demonstration of sheep dog herding. The Ring of Kerry and Skellig Islands were breathtaking, as were the Cliffs of Moher, and an interactive dinner at Bunratty Castle was such fun! The last day we visited Galway and the monastery of Clonmacnoise before returning to Dublin. During our stay in Ireland, our guide, Aidan, gave us insight into the rich history of his homeland as well as current events and issues facing the country. Aidan was the difference between a so-so tour and the tour of a lifetime! He looked after us, kept us moving, and went the extra mile in all that he did. We really enjoyed ourselves and look forward to the next trip!

This tour was absolutely perfect.....we even had perfect weather! The guide and driver were superb! The Accommodations were each unique and exceeded our expectations! Each meal was different and enjoyable! This is the first time we have done a guided tour and we will use CIE again! Thank you!jwh

Service was great. Booking was easy. Our tour guide Michael was excellent. Really knew his history. He was personable and really took care of all of us on the tour. All the hotels meals and itinerary of our tour was fabulous. Loved everything we did. Also loved that it was all inclusive and we didn't have to think about add ons.

Wonderful Taste of Ireland Tour

The 7 day 6 night Taste of Ireland was perfect. we started and ended in Dublin, a fun city with lots to do. The hop on bus vouchers that were sent to us in advance was a great way to get around Dublin before actually meeting up with the tour group. We were lucky to be early in the season and had a small group of fun travelers. Out tour guide/driver, Patrick Smith, made it fun, interesting and informative for all of us. The coach bus was comfortable. The hotels were all very nice and the itinerary was well planned. Busy but not hectic with plenty of time for Pub visiting st the end of the day.

CIE is the best! I would only tour with them!

I absolutley loved them. I spoke to one Irish lady(loved that she was Irish and not American) and she was so helpful. She made a wonderful impression of CIE and went above and beyond to help with my booking. I spoke to other CIE employees as well and they were all experts and I felt like I was in good hands.

Simple and efficient. I generally called the 800 number and was always greeted and had my concerns answered.

From the booking to the last taxi ride to the airport the service was great. Pat, our driver/guide was outstanding.

Overall rating really good except for the Galway hotel experience!

CIE Hotel was poor!! Put us in an area that was way too far from the elevators and required changing elevators multiple times due to this unpopular location!! Hotel was in Galway!! If you continue to use this hotel, due to distance and inconvenience, suggest area be used for younger individuals !!

Beautiful well planned tour. Our Driver "Gerry" was a Master Bus Driver!

Our trip with CIE Tours was beyond expectations. We were met at the airport by a very friendly man holding a CIE placard (easy to identify an unexpected). He got us a cab, (CIE paid) and off we went for our wonderful "Irish Legends Tour" Being taken care of upon after arrival is so important. After a long flight and change of time, we were exhausted. CIE started us off on the right foot. Our Driver was so knowledgeable and shared history and stories along the way. Gerry was the safest and best driver I have ever been with. The way he drove that bus along narrow roads and hairpin turns was unbelievable perfection. Hotels were all lovely and each of their staff, friendly and helpful. The only criticism would be that we didn't could have had a bit more free time. Favorites of the tour: The Immigration Museum, Each of the walking tours, excellent guides. The drives through the beautiful Irish countryside. All said, I would book another tour with CIE in a heartbeat. Can we have Gerry drive that bus also?

The perfect Irish Vacation!

This tour was awesome! From the time we were picked up at the airport until the time we returned, everything was done for us. The hotels were all great with comfortable beds and all amenities available. The bus was clean and comfortable and our guides were just great. Lloyd was very knowledgeable and Colin was an excellent driver. Both were kind and fun and we had a great time listening to their stories, jokes, poems and songs. Food was good and overall the price was fair for what we received.

Great trip to Scotland!

This was my third trip with CIE. Once again, the service and planning were excellent. Although we were unable to visit the Isle of Skye as planned, the remainder of the trip was educational and fun. Both our tour guide and driver were informative and entertaining. I hope to plan another trip with CIE soon!

5 Star Ireland with CIE

I would recommend CIE to anyone who wants to go to Ireland. It was a fabulous trip from bus to hotels to admin office to restaurants to excursions--the whole trip!
Noel was a great driver and guide. He's personable, funny, informative, smart, helpful, and, maybe most importantly, a superb driver. He can handle that huge bus in any kind of traffic, on any kind of road, in any kind of situation. It was all too short. The time shot by and was over before we knew it.

The food was wonderful at all the venues. The entertainment was good. The hotels were very good, especially The Lodge at Ashford Castle.

Maybe just a little more independent time would have been nice, but we saw all we came to see. It left us wanting more. We hope to book another tour in the future.

Booking the trip over the phone was fast and easy. We had a fantastic tour director during our trip. Wonderful experience - we'd love to travel with CIE Tours again someday.

Overall a fabulous experience!

What a wonderful time we had visiting the Emerald Isle. Top Notch hotels, the food was absolutely delicious, no extras to pay for everything was included, that itinerary included everything we wanted to see and they were all so unexpected stops for photo opportunities and enough free time to make us happy along the way. Overall a wonderful experience and I will definitely you cie tours again in the future. Highly recommend. Our tour director Tony, went above and beyond everyday and exceeded our expectations. I have no negative comments whatsoever about the trip... only that it had to end.
