Thanks to social media, travelers can record their journey, share transformational experiences, and yes, drop the occasional #humblebrag. “Silver surfers” (those over 50) are increasingly engaged online, but the nuances of connecting, consuming and sharing online are second nature for Gen Z. Enter CIE Tours International’s “Social Media Concierge” initiative, which bridges the digital disconnect between generations. Guests exploring Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales on guided vacations with CIE Tours this summer can benefit from the online-savvy of student interns, who in turn are afforded an opportunity to expand their horizons and gain valuable personal and professional skills. The result is the ultimate learning vacation for both traveler and intern.
As a Social Media Concierge, CIE Tours’ interns will spend one month between June and August traveling the European countryside with one of CIE Tours’ motor coach guided vacations. They will serve as social media subject matter experts, helping interested guests navigate the complexities of different platforms and apps. This will include sharing photo editing skills, discussing how to create compelling “stories,” and enlightening travelers to the nuances of online sharing. Simultaneously, the students will leverage their social media know-how to develop fresh content for CIE Tours’ platforms, highlighting the breadth of incredible experiences provided by the award-winning company. Selected students will receive full room and board, roundtrip air travel to Ireland or Britain from their place of residence, and a weekly stipend.
CIE Tours is now accepting applications for its summer program. Interested college students may visit www.facebook.com/cietours and the “Summer Internship” tab to review the details of the internship and submit their portfolio.
