We had a great time. All hotels were great except the last one. Most on board were upset that we weren’t allowed to use the bathroom on board. We loved most of the excursions. I wish we could have stayed in st-Andrews longer. I hated the rotated seat schedule. We lived at the back of the bus for the first part of the tour putting us last in line for the Scottish dinner where we sat the furthest away from the stage and saw very little. (The tip showed my displeasure).

Yes I would book again. I felt the trip encompassed many of the highlights for both countries in the alloted time. As a first journey there, I couldn't have been more pleased. The things that made it special: the accomodations, the driver Aiden and tour guide in Ireland, our tour guides in Scotland, the comfort of the bus, and an extraordinary event --- the people on our bus were all congenial. We had a marvelous time. I have been recommending CIE to many friends, and hope to take another tour with them one day. Thank you for asking for my feedback. Best wishes to all! Ann Cox

Easy, informative booking for Scotland & Ireland. Niles, driver and guides were all excellent. Fast paced but we got to see everything on our bucket list. Rooms were wonderful. Food was excellent. I would highly recommend this trip, wish I could go back. Try and get Niles for your driver!

I was able to research and book all of our trip online, at my our pace. It was fun to research the options and choose the experience that would best fit myself and my husband. I am a frequent traveler and I prefer to independently select vacation experiences, without being pressured by a travel sales person.

Trip:

I would travel with CIE again and recommend to friends and family. Everything was taken care of, all we had to do was have fun. Our bus driver Colm was great, he was excellent historian, driver and entertainer. Our tour guide Onya in Scotland was also awesome. The tour gave you enough of Scotland and Ireland to really enjoy. I had my mother, who is 91 years old with me. Seeing Ireland was on her bucket list. She really enjoyed it.

Trip:
Service:
I did it through CIE itself by talking to an agent. She was very helpful with all of my questions.

Trip:

Very easy to use.

Was hard to get through to agents on phone at times, but all worked out.

This was my second CIE tour to Scotland and Ireland. I booked this tour online with Ian McCarthy he was so very helpful and patient as I changed my mind a few times. Perfect from start to finish. No problems at all. This was a birthday celebration with my sister and he really helped with making this tour perfect!

Trip:
Service:
Was easy to book and from the first day to the last, our driver/guide was excellent.

Trip:
Service:
you took care of all my arrangements

Trip:
Service:
Everything was very well planned. Hotels were 4 star. Coach was very clean & comfortable. Driver & guides were very courteous. Meals were delicious & entertainment enjoyable.

Trip:
Service:
The reservation agents were very efficient, patient and informative.

Trip:
Service:
The tour guides were dictatorial and unfriendly Felt like I was on a school trip with assigned bus seats everyday. Hotel in Edinburgh was inconveniently located. You had to leave the city by 5 PM on the bus or spend 30 euros to take a cab back later. The bus driver/ tour guide was one step from rude. He only interacted with the group when necessary. One person in our group gets motion sickness, I asked if he could sit in the front of the bus, the guides said no and handed him a barf bag. The hotels were very good. But they don't compensate for the terrible tour guides. Even the local ones, with one exception were unfriendly and indifferent. I will stick with Go-Ahead for my trips in 2019.

I would definitely consider going on another CIE tour. Even though the days were full and sometimes long, it was great what CIE had pre-planned for us and taken care of all the details so we didn’t have to.

Trip:

The wife and I had a great time. Our driver Nills was the best. We highly recommend this tour.

Trip:
Service:
thought it was good, was glad my sister called and asked for copies of all paperwork, rather just giving to me.

Trip:

Thoroughly enjoyed our Taste of Scotland and Ireland. Our main tour guide and coach driver, Aiden, was most accommodating and informative. Our lodging was all four star as advertised and meals to match. Both my husband and I believe it to be one of our best vacations. Well organized, beautiful scenery, pleasant staff, and never rushed. Thank you CIE for these fantastic memories.

Trip:
Service:
The helpful agents on the phone made the booking very easy. I would definitely recommend CIE to family and friends.

Trip:
Service:
Not so sure .... since I had a bad experience with pickup at the beginning of the trip . I call CIE and question the arrival date since we were traveling overnight the date changed the company assured me the date we were leaving was the one we should used . But it was not right and the company picking up wanted my group to pay again and then get reimbursed later ...if at all

Trip:
Service:
The booking was fairly easy, no problems.

Trip:
Service:
Have recommended them and would use again. The service was first class and the sites were very good. No time was wasted. The tour did a good job of having organized events and letting one have some leisure time to explore on our own. The accommodations were good to excellent. A couple of venues were rather noisy as wedding parties were being held and continued well into the night. The tour guides were very informed and provided excellent commentary as we motored along the routes. Special tour guides were used in the various cities.

Trip:
Service:
The whole experience, through AAA, was fanastic. Thank you sooo much.

Trip:
Service:
It was a wonderful experience and so happy that I had the opportunity to go with CIE Tours... My son gave it to me as a gift and I had and once in a lifetime trip that I will never forget... Everything was so organized and the staff was amazing... Love, love, love...

Our tour guide was very unprofessional and rude.

Everything! Great travel guides, hotels.

Absolutely

Trip:

We had a many problems on our trip which I spoke to CIE about. After almost two months of back and forth b's, they offered me 10 percent off my next trip. REALLY !!!. I saw a add the next week giving anyone everyone that books, 5 percent off. I feel they really have bad customer service. They have lost much more by what I tell others about the problems we had. They blew off our problems like it was nothing. The lady in charge of our case was very incompetent and I have her emails to prove it. She said she worked there for yrs. Her boss had to remind her a number of times to get back to me. My emails prove this.

Trip:
Service:
They did everything well. My only complaint was being on hold for 10-15 minutes everytime i called.

Trip:

The trip was fantastic, I would highly recommend it. Everything was well organized. All the guides were very informative and had great sense of humor. The cities and sites visited were incredible. The people in Scotland and Ireland were very friendly and polite. GREAT Trip

Trip:

Loved every minute of the tour. Got there 2 days late because of the airline catastrophes. Would love to do it again someday. Had so much fun . We loved our tour guide Eamon and of course the food, shows, and beautiful Ireland and Scotland.

Trip:
Service:
No. Other tour companies gave their clients a lot of very nice things to use while traveling. I had nothing like that given to me and felt very disappointed.

Trip:
Service:
booking the trip was easy. but the booking of air flights was not very easy and was not very accommodating. also hotel did not have us registered upon arriving

Trip:
Service:
We had great guides that knew the history of their country. Our bus driver had a great sense of humor and very thoughtful to our friend who has health issues. We enjoyed the hotels and our meals. We hope to plan another trip with CIE.

Trip:
Service:
CIE was a first class experience. We have traveled on several bus tours. We found CIE great in value. The itinerary was great. The guides informative, funny and culturally enriching. The accommodations were fantastic.

The booking service was okay, as expected

Trip:

Everyone I’ve spoken with at CIE Tours was very courteous and professional. I rated the booking service a 4 because the wait time to speak to someone is extremely long. However, once I got someone on the phone, the booking process went smoothly, and if I had questions, all questions were answered clearly and sufficiently.

CIE tours made everything extremely easy. We booked online and had them arrange our flights and transportation to and from the airport. When we finally met up with the tour group a day late, due to bad weather and flight delays, we found out that we had the best guide and driver, Colm Clarke. He was AMAZING- very accommodating and cheerful throughout the whole tour. He kept us informed and entertained all at the same time. I've taken several tours and he surpassed any guides I've dealt with by far. The stops and sights planned are excellent and truly give you a taste of Ireland and Scotland. I found the hotels to be comfortable with good service. I cannot stress how much I enjoyed this tour and how hard I;m working to get back to Ireland as soon as possible. Of course, I'll be booking with CIE again and requesting Colm (Seriously, he is the BEST).
