Our bus guide Barry was terrific.

Everything was good except for the last day. Did not realize there would be no guide available and the hotel was very far from the hop on-hop off bus that was included with the transfer. We wound up wasting the day at the hotel.

All good, even with one issue that was resolved.

We did have an issue at the start when we arrived and the airport transfer we booked did not come through. We ended up taking a taxi and CIE did refund us the cost of that taxi.

This was my first experience with CIE Tours. The website was informative and easy to navigate. I also spoke with a CIE representative who readily addressed my concerns!

I gave 5 stars because how easy it was to BOOK the trip and how much I enjoyed the time spent in Ireland. The driver Patrick was exceptional. There are a few areas I would definitely change. First I think since the tour companies have a good relationship with the hotels there should be rooms available for the guests after traveling all night. Our flight came in at 05:30 in the am and we would have enjoyed our first day had we been able to check into our room. The inconvenience of not been able to check into the room really affected our week. We did push through it but being a middle aged person it takes longer to recover being up for 30 hours. The first day we were at the Clayton Hotel and we took advantage of the hop on hop off HOWEVER we could not take the same bus to come back to the hotel. Several other guests were the ones that explained that to us. Being in the country for the first day - I feel someone should have explained that to us. Most of our money was located in our suitcases that were in the hotel. I have travelled before and never encountered taking a hop on hop off that did not loop around. So not only being exhausted and not having our foreign money we had to navigate our way around. We got to see a lot of beautiful sights but if I was to do this again, I would do a 5 day trip as really the first and last day we were not touring and feel were wasted. I would also prefer to stay at a place 2 nights or have a "down" day in the middle just to embrace upon the community and the culture. I always felt a little rushed and although I understood in order to see everything we had to do that. Patrick our driver was very knowledgeable and kept us laughing. Singing in the bus made a long bus ride enjoyable. We only had Mary one day and wished she could have been on the tour longer. I was pleased we had a smaller group. I don't know if a person can request sitting up front on the bus or not but due to the fact that most days feeling a little tired not sleeping as well and being very busy throughout the day made it almost unbearable to ride the bus. I suffer with vertigo but usually it is not that bad. Knowing that we had a rotating seat arrangement I did not feel it was fair to request a special seat. Food for thought - have some trips for younger groups who don't mind being on the go so much, and then some groups for the middle-aged adults who want to see a lot but at a slower pace and embrace upon the culture. I thoroughly enjoyed the Merry Plough Boys and our day at Cliffs of Moher. Our weather was spectacular.

Booking was easy with CIE tours. No matter how many questions I had, I could call or chat online at any point, and get an almost immediate answer. Everyone I spoke to was clear about timelines by when I needed to do things, friendly, and upbeat, setting a good tone for a great trip.
