Terrific tour, but I wish it were longer.

This tour was booked only about a month before departure, so it wasn’t exactly what I was looking for, but it sounded good. I had a few conversations with an agent at the NJ office who didn’t get back to me as expected, but ultimately it all worked out. I was delighted to receive backpacks, phone plugs, luggage tags and full itinerary soon after paying. The tour itself worked out very well. I was looking for a small group, and there were 16 of us, which was great. Our driver/guide Tony, was absolutely fantastic. He gave us a lot of information about history, and life in Ireland, and kept us all well organized and on time. There just wasn’t enough time to cover the whole country other than breezing in and out of cities which are now all a blur. The hotels and meals were all excellent. Some of the hotels, however, were outside of town and we couldn’t easily go exploring on our own. I imagine it being high season, it wasn’t easy to book the more central locations.

Dee was a wonderful guide. We learned so much about the history and culture of Scotland. This was my second CIE trip. I have already recommended it.

Although the process was smooth, I feel the agent could have given us more information about creating the account to manage our payments and offer a little more information about the tour in general since it was our first tour. We took advantage of a 2-for-1 airline promotion CIE was offering which allowed us to upgrade to economy plus! We initially booked American Airlines flights, but switched to United Airlines, and CIE was great about making the change for us. CIE responded to inquiries in a timely manner.

The tour itself was great. We had a problem with meeting up with our guide at the airport. Our flight came into Terminal 1 and the agent was at Terminal 2. We could not find anyone in the Deblin baggage claim area to help us get to Terminal 2. We finally found our way there into the departure area but needed the arrival area. An airport worker finally helped us. I felt that the tour guide should have known we were coming into Terminal 1 and had someone there for us. CIE did set up the flight.

Great booking for a great trip

Will use Cie again when I find another trip that I wish to take.

It was a wonderful trip best I have taken in 26 years of travel. The only problems I had were 1 Nobody met me at airport-had to find bus, which was a long distance away-fell on way to bus trying to handle luggage and long trip. 2 Bus driver-Guide did not seem to understand that I needed copy of voucher for taxi to return to airport. He did get it the night before I left. The booking process was very good, answered my many questions every time I called. Do not know why my maiden name was on information that went to hotels-it made for much confusion at each hotel with getting correct name.
