Edinburgh

Edinburgh is Scotland's capital and has been since the 15th century. It is a compact city that boasts a medieval Old Town and an elegant Georgian New Town, built over 200 years ago. The historic Palace of Holyroodhouse is the official residence of the monarchs in Scotland. Rising above the the city is Edinburgh Castle, home to Scotland’s crown jewels and the Stone of Destiny, used in the coronation of Scottish rulers.

Lanark

Lanark is a small town rich in history located in the county of Lanarkshire in Scotland’s more populous Central Belt. It’s been a market town since medieval times when King David I of Scotland made it a Royal Burgh in 1140, thereby encouraging trade. Legend has it that William Wallace married a lass from Lanark, Marion Braidfute, and that he began his campaign for Scottish Independence in there in 1297.

Aberdeen

Located in northeast Scotland where the River Dee and the River Don meet the North Sea, Aberdeen has been settled for at least 8,000 years. Today it is Scotland’s third most populous city. Known as the ‘Granite City’ for its many grey-stone buildings built during the Victorian era, many have become landmarks such as the imposing Marischal College.
