Lanark

Lanark is a small town rich in history located in the county of Lanarkshire in Scotland’s more populous Central Belt. It’s been a market town since medieval times when King David I of Scotland made it a Royal Burgh in 1140, thereby encouraging trade. Legend has it that William Wallace married a lass from Lanark, Marion Braidfute, and that he began his campaign for Scottish Independence in there in 1297.

Inverness

The largest city and the cultural capital of the Scottish Highlands, Inverness is located on Scotland’s northeast coast, where the River Ness meets the Moray Firth. Nearby, the historic Battle of Culloden was fought in 1746 on Culloden Moor.
