Your vacation starts at Dublin Airport where
you will meet your driver. Depending on
how you feel you may like to rest in your
hotel or take an introductory tour around
Dublin’s main attractions.
Today’s journey is about 140 miles.
You may like to visit the monastic settlement
of Clonmacnoise, founded in 545 AD by
St. Ciaran on the banks of the mighty River
Shannon. You may like to take a walking
tour around the historic streets of
Galway. Suggested visits – Trim Castle,
Belvedere House, Athlone Castle.
Drive through scenic Connemara to
admire how constantly-changing cloud
formations give granite hills, sparkling
lakes and peat bogs an added dimension.
You may like to take a catamaran cruise
of Killary Harbour or travel out to the town
of Clifden and the Sky Road, with wonderful
scenery. Suggested visits – Kylemore Abbey,
Ashford Castle, Cong.
Travel south to Killarney, a distance of about
120 miles. You can choose to head inland
via Limerick city and the pretty village of Adare
or journey through the Burren and along the
coastline crossing the River Shannon Estuary
by ferry. Suggested visits – Cliffs of Moher,
Poulnabrone Dolmen, Bunratty Folk Park,
King John’s Castle.
Set out from Killarney on Ireland’s most
popular scenic drive – the Ring of Kerry.
Another popular drive is along the Dingle
Peninsula where many movies have been
made. The Beara Peninsula to the south of
Killarney is a lesser-known drive with
smaller roads. Suggested visits – Skellig
Experience, Muckross House & Gardens,
Dingle Bay Cruise, Blasket Centre.
Journey along the south coast today to Waterford,
a distance of 120 miles by the direct route. You
may choose to drive along the coastline of West
Cork with its many interesting villages. Why not
kiss the Blarney Stone, just outside Cork city and
visit the port town of Cobh, if you are interested
in RMS Titanic. Suggested visits – Bantry House,
Blarney Castle, Cobh Heritage Centre, House of
Today’s journey is about 100 miles, traveling
either inland via Kilkenny or taking the coast
route. You may like to spend the morning in
Waterford to visit some of the many historic
sights or the Waterford Crystal Factory.
