TOURING IDEAS
Day 1: Dublin
Arrive at Dublin
Airport and take a group transfer to your hotel between 7:00 am and 12:00 noon.
Use your two prepaid vouchers for an open-top bus tour of central Dublin and a
visit to either the Guinness Storehouse or Old Jameson
Distillery.
Day 2: Dublin to Kilkenny
Pick up
your car at Hertz downtown office or a chauffeur-drive minibus from your
hotel and head south today. Dublin to Kilkenny is only 80 miles by the
direct route but there are plenty of sights to see along the way. Suggested
visits - Irish National Stud & Japanese Gardens, Wicklow Historic Gaol and
Avondale House.
Day 3: Kilkenny to
Killarney
It's 120 miles by the most direct route but there are
a number of routes you can take via Cork and Blarney or through Limerick.
Suggested visits - Blarney Castle and Fota House &
Gardens.
Day 4: Kerry
Touring
Today you may like to take a full day tour to travel the
popular 100-mile Ring of Kerry - drive in a counter-clockwise
direction. suggested visits - Kerry County Museum and Skellig Experience.
The Dingle Peninsula is also a lovely tour and would be about 120
miles.
Day 5: Killarney to Westport
Whether
you drive via the city of Limerick or take a ferry across the River Shannon
Estuary, the distance is about 170 miles. suggested visits - Bunratty Folk
Park. You may like to explore the city of Galway before driving through
Connemara to Westport.
Day 6: Achill Island or
Connemara
Head north today around the scenic Achill Island,
which is joined to the mainland by a bridge. Or focus on the open countryside of
the Connemara region. Suggested visits -Catamaran Cruiseon Kilary Fjord
and Westport House & Gardens
Day 7: Westport to Dublin
Drive right
across Ireland today from west to east coast to arrive at your Dublin hotel
once more - a distance of 160 miles. Suggested visit - Museum of Country
Life and Tullamore Dew Heritage Centre.
Day 8: Vacation Ends
Dublin
Leave your rental car or minibus at Dublin Airport in
